Performance

Engine Options

Acura has provided the 2025 MDX with two engine options. Most trims will use a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V-6, making 290 horsepower, while the Type S Ultra uses a turbocharged V-6, making 355 horsepower. Both can outperform the Lexus TX.

Towing Capacity

The 2025 Acura MDX can tow up to 2,268 kg when properly equipped with the available towing package. Without it, it can still tow 1,360 kg. The Lexus TX provides approximately the same capability.

Interior Space

Seating Capacity

One area where the 2025 Acura MDX really demonstrates its advantages over the TX lineup is seating capacity. All versions of the 2025 MDX can hold seven passengers, while the TX can only accommodate six people. Additionally, both vehicles are very evenly matched in terms of legroom across their three rows of seats.

Cargo Volume

When the 2025 MDX is properly configured, it can offer up to 2,690 litres of cargo volume with the rear rows folded down. The 2025 TX has just a few extra litres of interior cargo volume.

Technology

Digital Device Compatibility

Both crossover SUVs have access to the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto suites of applications. However, the 2025 MDX takes digital device compatibility to the next level by offering Google Built-In, meaning drivers will have seamless access to Gmail, Google Maps, and more popular Google apps.

Safety

Acura and Lexus each have some of the most advanced active and passive safety systems on the market. The 2025 Acura MDX is protected by the AcuraWatch system that is comprised of:

  • Lane Keeping Assist System
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
