2024 ACURA ZDX

Electric Elegance: Acura's Bold Foray into Electrification

Acura is making a powerful statement with the all-electric 2024 ZDX and ZDX Type S, which recently debuted globally during the prestigious Monterey Car Week. The ZDX Type S will bring an estimated 500 horsepower to the table, setting a new standard for Acura as its most potent SUV ever. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) system will be standard for both the ZDX A-Spec and Type S. The former will be priced above $80,000, while the latter will start at over $90,000.

Cutting-Edge Design and Technology

Designed by a team at the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, the ZDX embodies Acura's newest styling language. Inspired by the Precision EV Concept, the vehicle showcases Acura's innovative exterior and interior design direction. Among the notable features are the brand's iconic Chicane DRLs, Jewel Eye LED headlights, and an evolved Diamond Pentagon grille with 3-D embossing. On the inside, the ZDX offers a driver-centric layout, replete with high-end materials and a plethora of premium features, including a combined 22-inch digital screen real estate.

Technological Innovation

When it comes to technology, the ZDX will integrate Google built-in for seamless connectivity. This includes Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other apps that will enrich the driving experience. Additionally, the ZDX will be Acura's first model to feature Bang & Olufsen luxury audio, offering an 18-speaker system that's been engineered exclusively for the all-electric SUV's tech-rich cabin. AcuraWatch 360+ with Hands Free Cruise will be a part of the ZDX Type S, marking the first instance of hands-free driving technology in Acura’s lineup.

While pre-sale activities in Canada are set to begin later this year, the first client deliveries are expected to roll out in Spring 2024. This will mark a significant milestone for Acura Canada, according to James Marchand, Assistant Vice President at Acura Canada, who emphasized that the ZDX is just the beginning in Acura’s move towards a fully electrified lineup.

Performance Tuning and Charging Capabilities

On the performance side, the ZDX Type S takes it up a notch with features like height-adjustable air suspension, performance-tuned adaptive dampers, and 15.6-inch Brembo front brakes. Multiple drive modes, including a Sport mode for maximum acceleration and response, allow for a highly customizable driving experience. DC Fast Charging capabilities enable the 102-kWh lithium-ion battery to recharge over 120kms of range in just 10 minutes, making recharging convenient for ZDX owners.

The ZDX also arrives with an anticipated 500km zero-emission range, thanks to a standard sport-appearance package in the ZDX A-Spec. Moreover, Acura Canada will offer this variant in a dual-motor, AWD configuration. Convenient home and public charging solutions will be facilitated through an online Acura marketplace and a dedicated Acura App, making it easier for customers to transition into an electrified lifestyle.

The 2024 Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S set the stage for a bold new era in Acura’s journey, uniting cutting-edge technology with unparalleled performance and design.
